Fashion Week Outfits That Should Never Be Forgotten Part 3: Milan
A mini-series as a reminder of the good days of celebrity style at fashion week.

For the attendees, Milan Fashion Week tends to be a bit more dressed up. Where New York and London see plenty of jeans and t-shirts, the front rows at shows like Versace, Prada and Gucci are filled with famous people dressed to the nines. Sometimes it's a recipe for a snooze fest, and sometimes it's brilliant.
Take this look worn by January Jones to the 2011 Versace show.. The brand was showing it's 2012 Spring / Summer collection to a crowd filled with celebrity clients. Jones was at the height of her Mad Men fame, and just like her character Betty Draper, she was not going shy away from big hair and a bright color lip. What I love about this in retrospect is not that it's a great look. It's that it is so dated. The 2010s hair bump was riding high on her head for everyone to see.
Then we have the fringe - oh the fringe! It's like a dressed up version of a dying boho trend, hanging from her neck in a way that you just can't. There's also the stark white shoes for a full-blown Betty Boop moment.

To be clear, I love January Jones' willingness to go all in the moment. This look feels like a placeholder, a marker, for a very specific and very odd time in fashion and I love that she's the one to do it.
