Anne Hathaway at Cannes via Getty
This isn’t fashion news, but I think we all need a little fun moment of fashion right now, and I’m taking it from Anne Hathaway. Generally, my feeling about red carpets *in these times,* is that if we’re going to have them, at least make them fun to look at. I think she did that each time she stepped out at Cannes last week. One look, in particular, was a Gucci mini dress that she paired with cat-eye glasses and a bouffant, which tickled my little Devil Wears Prada-loving heart. You can tell she was having fun with it, which is honestly one of the most important things with fashion.

TOP READING:

The Paris Apartment is a mystery who-done-it that takes place within the confines of a mysterious apartment in Paris. When I initially picked it up, I thought I would get a sensory Paris read, and it’s decidedly not that. Still, it was a fast-paced mystery that was predictable but fun enough that I read to the end. As we head into vacation season, it makes for a great plane, train or bus read.

TOP CLOTHING:
It does not matter the weather; if the outfit calls for boots, then boots we shall wear. It’s not always practical or comfortable, but it’s cute. I recently browsed one of my favorite Instagram vintage accounts, @iamthatshop, and I realized they have a great rotation and assortment of cowboy boots, including some non-traditional stiletto ones that I’m obsessed with. Perfect with a dress, skirt or shorts and yes.

TOP SPOT:

Cherry on Top in Brooklyn, NY
People have decided that natural wine is not a trend but big business – luckily for us. Cherry on Top is a newish addition to the Bushwick neighborhood in Brooklyn, and it’s such a fun little wine bar for a casual drink. Despite having really nice wine, the decor and vibe are unpretentious. They also have a gorgeous roof and the owner, illustrator Cerise Zelenetz, hosts regular drawing events.
