STORY TO KNOW:

Via Nike
A leaked internal survey at Nike revealed that the company’s tech workers are extremely dissatisfied with their job. According to Insider, “48 of 51 categories surveyed, tech workers rated their job satisfaction below employees in other parts of the company.” This news comes as Nike attempts to expand their digital growth through apps, the Metaverse and ecommerce. Growth at the expense of employees appears to be a historical pattern for the beloved brand. Since the 90s, they have dealt with sweatshop labor in the supply chain, massive turnover, and layoffs throughout points of growth. Hopefully, the fact that there is even a survey in the first place is a sign that they are planning to address the issues.

RECOMMENDED READING:

“Among the Ten Thousand Things" by Julia Pierpont is about how an affair impacts a New York City family. It's very oddly structured, and that's what you'll see if you look up the reviews. For me though, it was a nice break from the formulaic nature of summer novels. I think it's worth a try for something a little different on your reading list this summer.

WEEKEND STYLE:

This weekend, I’m getting on an airplane for the first time in a while for a weekend getaway. It made me think about the magazine world’s former obsession with airport style. It was a mix of model off duty obsession meets early online shopping craze, and it resulted in me feeling the need to copy these ridiculous looks. I’ve never been a sweatpants person, so it’s going to probably be jeans. But not just any jeans, they have to be wide almost to the point of not touching my legs.
