RECOMMENDED READING:

If you have ever been curious about Anna Wintour and her role at Vogue, then ANNA by Amy Odell is a must read. It's filled with details about how she works and insight into the ways she changed the magazine over the last few decades. Odell interviewed hundreds of people to get the most entertaining and accurate information about the famous editor-in-chief. (Also, it's worth checking out her TikTok where she talks about what's real in The Devil Wears Prada).

STYLE NOTE:
This is about coffee but not really. Lately, I've been working at coffee shops for an hour or two a day. It's been helping me get out of my own way and focus on writing for a little bit when I need to. I noticed most of these coffee shops have the exact same tasting coffee. I live in a place where an independent coffee spot is on every block, and for some reason you cannot get anything other than a similar tasting cup of $4 light roast at every one of them. It made me think about how easy trends are on everyone, from business to customer.
I personally like darker roasted coffee, and prefer what I make at home, but suddenly I feel uncool or like I'm missing out on a secret when I get my fresh cup, and it tastes like tea to me. I think the same can be said for fashion, when we don't fit the trend, our first instinct is to feel weird about it, instead of settling into the fact that maybe it's fine that it's not for us.
GOOD OUTFITS:
