RECCOMENDED READING:

This book will take at least several years to read it through but don't let the deter you. When I first began wanting to know more about wine than it's a red, a friend got me the World Atlas of Wine. Hear me out, it's changed the way I buy and even think about wine. I'm never going to take a sommelier course but if I see a bottle I like, I can look up the region in the book and see why it tastes the way it does which makes drinking it a more involved experience.

STYLE NOTE:
Last week, a friend asked me about a fashion brand’s sustainability practices. The first thing I did was look it up on their website only to find "lorem ipsum" text in the descriptions. (You can watch the video below for more about this). It led me to think about how important it is to take the first step to look at what a brand is promising about sustainability, and if there are any actions outside of just promises. If you don’t see it anywhere on the website (probably not a great sign), contact them and ask.
